MP Repro Awarded for their Entries in the Categories, “Innovation Challenge” and “Technical Challenge”
Montréal, June 18, 2018 – MP Repro is proud to announce their recent success at the 36th Gutenberg Gala, held at Montréal’s Marché Bonsecours on May 31 st . MP was a finalist in the Technical Challenge Award for Best Advertising Display, in addition to bringing home the Gutenberg Innovation Challenge Award for Best Advertising Display. The Gutenberg Gala pays tribute to professionals in the printing industry, celebrating their talent, creativity and expertise.
This year, MP Repro was presented with the Gutenberg Award for the project, “Decorating a Church”, commissioned for their client the Église Orthodoxe des Saints Archanges Michel et Gabriel.
To create this project, MP Repro had to make large-format art replicas that looked like they had been painted onsite. These permanent reproductions needed to be durable, washable and could not fade over time. They also had to be hung on the church walls as well as on curved and concave surfaces. In the end, the dome, the arches and the walls seemed to have been painted by an artist. What a great success!
MP Repro was also a finalist for their project, “Christmas Castle” created for their client, Studio Artefact. The project involved the production of large, 1/4-inch thick, clear lexan polycarbonate doors on which MP Repro had to print a translucent image using the same white shade that was used in the existing rooms. Once finalized, all the castle rooms fit together perfectly!
